In 2020, the year of a global pandemic, Safe Communities Humboldt & Area will need to deliver the safety messaging associated with the Positive Ticketing Campaign in a different way.  To still recognize those citizens who are doing things right — such as wearing helmets while skateboarding, riding bicycles or scooters, crossing the street at marked cross walks, displaying inclusive behaviour, or helping someone else be safe all while practising safe social distancing, they are encouraging area citizens to self-nominate or share photos of family, friends or teammates demonstrating safe behaviours.

In August 2020 we were able to resume a partial return to regular programming with the Humboldt Fire Department and Humboldt & District Ambulance Service safely awarding Positive Tickets to worthy citizens. We utilized additional criteria by rewarding those who practiced physical distancing and wearing masks to protect not only themselves but others. Minimal contact prize redemption and pick up was made available at the Humboldt Uniplex. Our grand prize winner was chosen from all those who redeemed their tickets throughout the program. Congratulations to all our ticket recipients and thank you for choosing safety and being a role model in your community!

Thank you to our local businesses who provided individual ticket redemption prizes:
