Rail safety awareness was discussed extensively throughout the year at various events including: PARTY (Preventing Alcohol & Risk-related Trauma in Youth), Bike Rodeo & Safety Day, Progressive Ag Safety Day and during Distracted Driving presentations. CN Police provided a hands-on session at the Bike Rodeo & Safety Day to nearly 300 grade 1-4 students. During this session, students learned the importance of being cautious and aware while biking near train tracks and walking their bike when crossing the tracks. An additional CN Rail Safety presentation was delivered by CN Police to 225 students at our Progressive Ag Safety Day. During the Distracted Driving presentations, delivered to nearly 100 grade 10 students in October, Emergency Services personnel stressed the importance of driving without distractions and the consequences of neglecting to do so, at railway intersections.
