2015 Rail Safety Program – Safe Communities

With support from CN Rail, Parachute and 107.5 Bolt FM, we have been able to introduce a new and exciting rail safety program.

This in-depth program has two components:

1. A School based portion where Kindergarten through grade 6 teachers teach rail safety lessons to their students. Following these lessons, Kindergarten through Grade 6 students drew pictures which depict something they learned through their lessons. (April 13th – May 8th, 2015)

2. All individuals from our local communities get to vote on our favorite pictures and video’s which can be found on www.discoverhumboldt.com (May 25th – June 5th, 2015).

The artists of the favorite pictures win an iPod Shuffle (3 categories of winners;K-Grade 2, Grade 3-4, Grade 5-6)

All winners are announced on June 8th, 2015

Thank you to the Humboldt SADD Chapter for working with us to narrow down the favorite pictures choices in each category. Thank you to the CN Police Service for providing a Constable to join us at the schools for additional educational presentations and to hand out the prizes to the lucky winners!
